Played eight seasons in Major League Soccer (MLS), starting 117 games and compiling a record of 53-46-17, 1.51 GAA and 30 shutouts… Was originally selected by the Dallas Burn in the first round (10th Overall) of the 1998 MLS College Draft… Made his MLS debut in the Dallas Burn’s season finale on September 26, 1998, playing the first half at Colorado… In 1999, started 29 games with the Dallas Burn and established a club record for goals-against average in a season, at 1.08… That year, was also named MLS All Star, finishing the season first in the league with 11 shutouts… Was named Defensive Player of the Year by the Dallas Burn… Was also finalist for the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award… In 2000, in Dallas, led the league in minutes played by a goalkeeper, with 2,830… In 2001, started all 26 Burn games… Tied for the league lead in shutouts with nine… In 2001 and 2002, was named Dallas Burn Humanitarian of the year for his work with the YMCA… Joined the first division Danish Superliga club Odense Boldklub (OB) on February 22, 2003… Played the 2003-04 Danish Superliga season with OB… In his first game with OB, registered a 2-1 win over West Brom of England… Participated in the 2003 UEFA Cup with OB and helped the club finish fourth in the final league standings… Made a total of 21 appearances, seven first-team and 14 reserve, posting a combined record of 15-3-3 with nine shutouts... In 2004 and 2005, started just three games with the Columbus Crew due notably to injuries... Was acquired by the Colorado Rapids along with Chris Wingert on January 20, 2006 from the Columbus Crew in exchange for the Rapids third round draft pick in 2006 and a conditional draft pick in 2007... After returning from injury, helped Colorado win the MLS Reserve League Championship, playing in seven games… Played his first season with the Impact in 2007… Was the recipient of the Newcomer of the Year Award… Helped the team remain undefeated in the first seven games of the season (4-0-3), for the 4th time in club history… Ended the season with 10 wins and 11 shutouts… Finished the season first in the league (minimum 1,000 minutes played) with only 12 goals allowed… Set two new team records, shutting out the opponent during six consecutive games, as well as not allowing a single goal during 622 minutes of play… Became the third goalkeeper in Impact history to earn at least 10 shutouts in a season, after Paolo Ceccarelli and Greg Sutton… Helped the team shut out its opponent in 50% of its games (14 of 28) for a fourth straight season… Missed only five games due to a broken jaw in Sherbrooke, against Carolina… Was named to the USL D1 All-League Second Team.
AMATEUR
Was voted Colorado High School Player of the Year in 1994… Won back to back National Championships in 1994 and 1995 with the Denver Kickers Men's Amateur… In 1995, was named the Finals Most Valuable Player… Was a Developmental player for the Colorado Foxes (APSL) in 1995 and 1996… Started all 80 games of his college career at Clemson University, from 1994 to 1997… Was a NSCAA First-team All-America selection in 1994 and 1997… Was also College Player of the Year finalist in 1997… Ranked second on the Tigers’ all-time saves list, with 311… Ended his college career with a 1.14 goal-against average... Was voted to the ACC 50th anniversary All-ACC team for soccer… Graduated from Clemson with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and a minor in Sports Marketing.
INTERNATIONAL
Was called into USA National Team camp for friendly games against China and Colombia in early 2001, but has yet to earn his first cap… Represented USA at the Under-23, U-21, U-20 and U-18 levels… Was a member of the bronze-medal-winning U.S. National ‘B’ Team at the 1997 World University Games in Italy.
2008 SEASON
In his second season with the Impact, received the Giuseppe-Saputo, given by the club to the Most Valuable Player… Ended the season with a 0,760 Goal Allowed Average, the best in the USL First Division… Tallied 10 wins and nine shutouts in 25 regular season games… Registered four consecutive shutouts and shut out the opponent during 444 minutes of play… Was the player who played the most during the regular season with 2,250 minutes of play… Was one of the three players on the club who played more than 2,000 minutes… In the first game of the season, became the seventh goalkeeper in club history to have played 20 games with the Impact… Was finalist for the USL First Division Goalkeeper of the Year Award… Was named to the USL Second All-Team for a second consecutive season… Was named Most Valuable Player of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship, after conceding only two goals in four games… Was one of the four Impact players who played the whole 90 minutes of the four games in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship… In nine games played in the CONCACAF Champions League, registered five shutouts… Was named the “Joueur Coup de Coeur 2008” by Journal de Montréal as selected by the fans… After receiving offers from Major League Soccer (MLS) teams, preferred to stay in Montreal, signing a two-year deal on December 12, 2008.
